Best of 2008!

[img src="http://www.misty-stix.com/view/lrg/081230-banner.jpg" alt="" /][br /][br /]And finally the year 2008 is about to come to an end. I would like to extend my sincerest apologies for not being able to update my site for some time and I would like to thank you all for visiting my website once again.[br /][br /]To start off I will list down the anime I watched this year which was made this year - which means I will not include the older anime series I have watched which were not created this year. There are just a few since I've been goofing off, doing some gaming and watching some retro anime like Flame of Recca, Trigun etc. *sighs* I think I still have a lot to watch in order to catch up.[br /][br /]List of 2008 anime I watched (alphabetical order)[br /][br /]1. Aria the Origination[br /]2. Bamboo Blade[br /]3. Clannad[br /]4. Code Geass Hangyaku no Lelouch R2[br /]5. Hayate no Gotoku![br /]6. Itazura na Kiss[br /]7. Kekkaishi[br /]8. Kurenai[br /]9. Macross F[br /]10. Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu[br /]11. Ookami to Koushinryou[br /]12. Shakugan no Shana II[br /]13. Tetsuwan Birdy Decode[br /][br /]There are plenty of anime titles created this year and are very interesting.[br /][br /]Now I shall begin picking out my top 5 favorite anime titles for this year[br /][br /][strong]5. Macross Frontier[/strong][br /][img style="float: left" src="http://www.misty-stix.com/view/sml/081230-macross.jpg" alt="" /] If you're a fan of awesome and cool soundtracks, opera, and meccha then Macross Frontier is the anime for you. Macross F sets out in the year 2059 A.D. The "F" is short for "Frontier", which is also the name of the migration fleet this story is about. This anime has caught my attention when I was listening to one of its soundtracks.[br /][br /]In my case, I completed the soundtracks first before watching the anime. This anime is sci-fi, meccha and concentrates on the future (post apocalyptic) when the human race is scattered accross the galaxy.[br /][br /][strong]4. Ookami to Koushinryou[/strong][br /][img style="float: left" src="http://www.misty-stix.com/view/sml/081230-wolf.jpg" alt="" /]Also known as Spice and Wolf. Lawrence is a traveling merchant who finds a 600 year old pagan deity/wolf girl named Horo in his wagon one night. She begins traveling with him, and her wisdom helps increase his profits. But her true nature draws unwanted attention from the church.[br /][br /]Horo appears to be a fifteen-year-old girl, except for a wolf's tail and ears. She introduces herself as the town's goddess of harvest, who has kept it blessed with good harvests of wheat for many years. I love the story of this one, it makes a good impression when you go on travels and seek fortune though full of sarcasm and such.[br /][br /][strong]3. Aria the Origination[/strong][br /][img style="float: left" src="http://www.misty-stix.com/view/sml/081230-aria.jpg" alt="" width="140" height="95" /]At first I began watching the Aria The Animation series to be able to move on to Aria the Natural then to Aria the Origination. I was caught up in this anime because of the cuteness of the characters. Aria is a sci-fi, drama, spice of life anime.[br /][br /]Aqua and Aria take place in the early twenty-fourth century, in the city of Neo-Venezia on the planet Aqua—formerly Mars, which was renamed after being terraformed into a habitable planet covered in oceans. Neo-Venezia, based on Venice in both architecture and atmosphere, is a harbor city of narrow canals instead of streets, traveled by unmotorized gondolas. The plot revolves around Akari Mizunashi, Aika Granzchesta, Alice Carroll and their seniors. I've shed tears on this one since it was too good of an anime in terms of drama and friendship.[br /][br /][strong]2. Itazura na Kiss[/strong][br /][img style="float: left" src="http://www.misty-stix.com/view/sml/081230-itazura.jpg" alt="" width="140" height="95" /]Also known as Mischievious Kiss. This is by far the best drama, love-romance anime I've watched yet. It has a considerable amount of laughter that can be at par with its romance. [br /][br /]Itazura na Kiss tells the love story of Kotoko and Naoki from their days as high school students to their marriage. The story continues after the marriage as they continue to grow as a couple. The story starts with Kotoko finally building up the courage to confess to Naoki Irie by giving him a love letter but was rejected in front of everybody. After that humiliating moment, she decided to give up on her love for Naoki. That same day, the Aihara's newly-built home was destroyed during a mild earthquake due to poor construction. They ended up staying in the Irie household thus starting the development of their relationship.[br /][br /][br /][strong]1. Code Geass Hangyaku no Lelouch R2[/strong][br /][img style="float: left" src="http://www.misty-stix.com/view/sml/081230-gr2.jpg" alt="" width="140" height="95" /]And now for the #1 anime for this year: Code Geass: Lelouche of Rebellion R2 (Season 2). Ever since season 1 this anime has never let me down. It kept me entertained and interested on what would happen next. This is one of the anime series that is full of action and suspense. I love how the author plot the story. It was excellent that I'm even at a loss for words while sitted watching.[br /][br /]Code Geass Season 1: On August 10, 2010, a.t.b., the Holy Empire of Britannia overpowered Japanese forces and conquered the country with their new robotic weapons, the Knightmare Frames, in less than a month. In the aftermath of Britannia's invasion, Japan lost its freedom, its rights, and even its name, becoming Area 11 of the Britannian Empire. The Japanese people, renamed as "Elevens", are forced to survive in poor neighborhoods, while Britannians live in first-class settlements. Rebel elements persist, however, as pockets of Japanese organizations struggle against the Empire for the independence of Japan.[br /][br /]Code Geass Season 2: It's been one year since the failure of the Black Rebellion and the supposed death of Zero. Britannia has assigned Area 11 a "correctional education" status, where Elevens are made an example of by brute force, to try to prevent any future uprisings and suppress rebellious thoughts. Unsuspecting high school student Lelouch, oblivious to his rebellious past as Zero, stumbles upon a scheme on his life and the life of a mysterious woman known as C.C., who reveals to him his forgotten purpose and his "true" self. Destroying his assailants and declaring himself Zero once again, Lelouch sets out to finish what he started.[br /][br /]And that wraps up the best of 2008. I hope you enjoyed reading some of my reviews although some of it have been referenced for description purposes. I've had fun this year because even if I'm drowned at work I could still find time to watch anime. I wish everyone happy holidays!

Code Geass: R2

[p]Good Day Folks! I must say that I'm sorry I haven't been able to attend to my blog for some time. Well I have my reasons at least. Anyhow thanks to anime I'm still here! Ahh its really been some time since I last watched an anime in one sitting. [/p] [p][img style="float: left" src="http://www.misty-stix.com/view/sml/081005-1.jpg" alt="" /]today we'll be taking a look at code geass. I have finished both seasons and I am more than happy that I did watch them. This anime has great potential that it could even possibly rival those of your favorite mecha animes. Code Geass is a product of clamp and sunrise. If you know sunrise, the creators of our favorite gundam series and clamp, creator of chobits, tsubasa chronicles. Both parties came up with a very awesome anime[/p] [p][img src="http://www.misty-stix.com/view/sml/081005-2.jpg" alt="" style="float: right" /]Code Geass is a mecha-scifi based anime fully packed with action that would absolutely spark an interest in you. As the story advances, it becomes more interesting as you explore the world of Lelouch Lamperouge who is the main character and protagonist of the show, Suzaku Kururugi, C.C., Nunnally Lamperouge, Kallen Kozuki and more. You'll be surprised upon completing an episode as many secrets unveil.[/p] [p][img src="http://www.misty-stix.com/view/sml/081005-4.jpg" alt="" style="float: left" /] Additional information on the mechanics of this anime. What is Geass? Geass is a mysterious power which certain people can bestow upon others; C.C. is the most prominent character who grants the power of Geass. The form the Geass takes is different in each individual. C.C. calls Geass the Power of Kings. It is represented by a bird-shaped symbol which glows red when active.[/p] [p][img src="http://www.misty-stix.com/view/sml/081005-3.jpg" alt="" style="float: right" /]If you ask me, Code Geass is a very interesting piece that you should not let slip past you. I really enjoyed watching it to the end. One of the best series ever created yet this year. Hopefully more will come, I have acquired some new ones and hope to get the same enjoyment (hopes and pray). Well anyway that's it. I'm sure you'll enjoy Code Geass as much as I did (or perhaps even more).[/p]

Good day everyone! As you all have noticed I already changed my domain. The previous one was hosted for free on http://www.awardspace.com. I'm very thankful to them for offering free services. I have already terminated my account at awardspace. I had a friend who offered me a great deal and I thought to myself that this is a great opportunity to move up one level. And now this site is now running under a new host thanks to him.
[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
I wanna thank you all for your support by visiting my site though I know its not that great and I even hardly find time to update it. I'm truly thankful!

Kekkaishi

[span class="b_con"]
Its been a while since I last updated this blog. Well anyway things have been hectic lately and I can barely find time to blog. Luckily I can still find time to watch some anime and that is all thanks to weekends.[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
Anyway lets get on with the review. This anime, Kekkaishi is another one of those long series, well if you think that 52 episodes is long enough that is.
[/span]

[span class="b_con"][img class="b_img_inline_l" src="./img/blog/062908-01.jpg" alt="" /]If you're a fan of monsters and super powers then this anime will surely give you a taste of what you need. It revolves around kids who for some reason have some special powers and call themselves kekkaishi who have sworn to protect places from being inhabitated by monsters known as the ayakashi. They exist to suppress these 'ayakashi' beings from the otherworld. The kekkaishi are special beings who have a special skill to create barriers and such and these barriers are called 'kekkai'. Can't say that these 'ayakashi' beings are human but atleast its safe to say that they are not supposed to be present in the human world.[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
[img class="b_img_inline_r" src="./img/blog/062908-02.jpg" alt="" /]
It's not really one unique piece but I trust you'll find the story and plot interesting as you elevate from one episode to another. At first you might be wondering, the story may be only limited but don't make conclusions just yet. Just sit back and enjoy the show as it gets interesting. I really enjoyed this series to the end and I'm sure you will too.

[span class="b_con"]
Finally! I reached my goal which was to finish B.S.I.T. after 5 years of crazy recitations, wrist-breaking essays, brain-twisting examinations, body-wearing projects, endless overnights and stuff. The time has come where I have to say farewell to the friends I worked with during the years of toiling and hardship. First of all I would like to thank everyone who helped me pursue my dream; dear God, my parents and friends who were always there... for your unwavering support. I would like to extend my thanks for everything!
[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
To my fellow graduates; Congratulations!!! and may you soar great heights! Good luck in the next step of life. May God bless you in every decision you make and that you would greatly benefit from it! God Speed! :)

[span class="b_con"]
[img class="b_img_inline_l" src="./img/blog/032408-00.jpg" alt="" /]
Happy Easter everyone! I'm still curious why the Easter Egg is the significant object of this holiday. Well anyway, putting that aside. I'm pretty sure all of you (Christians) have celebrated this day. Me? So far so good. I did not go to an all-night vigil but I attended church at the eve of Easter.
[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
I know that since its a holiday which means no-work and a rest day, I suppose that most of us have to relax and enjoy the opportunity. Me? I've drowned in my anime world then again. I take advantage of the situation as I always do. Well anyway, hope you all had a wonderful easter! :)

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

[span class="b_con"]
And so our busy days are finally over. Well for now that is hehe. There might be more waiting in the future but while there aren't any that would keep me busy for the moment I would as well make a review on the latest anime I finished watching[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
[img class="b_img_inline_l" src="./img/blog/022208-00.jpg" alt="" /]Have you watched this yet? If not... I urge you to watch it! This anime is great I would say. One of the best ever created. At first I thought eh this it? but as I advance to the next episode I got the urge of finishing it to the end as I was curious of what will happen next. The story begins at a time where people are living underground and are prohibited to thread the surface. As people should live their simple normal lives; an individual or should I say two make their own future and shape their own destiny with their own hands.
[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
The adventure is endless as numerous events connect with each other. Every passing episode makes you experience the thrill and anxiety of thinking about the next thing that will be uncovered. Humans fighting enormous monsters whom they call "Ganmens" and while these creatures thread the surface - the advancement of human evolution is hindered. Until one or two could gain a vision to move on to the next step. Humans are nearing their extinction as they strive to survive beneath the soil.[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
[img class="b_img_inline_r" src="./img/blog/022208-01.jpg" alt="" /]
As countless battles pile up one after the other, humans don't just seem to lose determination. What is this great factor that makes them move to the extent that even life is at steak. But then again, those who are weak will never survive and will never see the light the next day. Though death is inevitable it should not become futile as death is part of the cycle for evolution.
[/span]

Werk? Hmmm ok...

[span class="b_con"]
Yeah I could say that I am slacking a bit more often than normal. Working sure is tough; it drains all your energy leaving nothing behind for yourself. Good thing its an orthodox that people get tired from time to time and get stressed from too much work.[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
As a means to divert my attention a little, I go site-hopping from place to place and find interesting information and that would make me inspired to do my work better. Another means of relaxing for me is playing around with Photoshop. I know I'm not that good at artwork and other digital design or whatever you term it in creative jargon; I could say that I feel at ease when expressing myself through art.[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
I think I forgot something... oh yeah! music! I'm listening to music now as we speak. Without music I would've given up already. Boredom is one of the significant factors I hate when doing something. Other people like working in silence such that they can concentrate better but for me... nah, I prefer music as I wouldn't be put to sleep as I work. Any music would do as long as it doesn't deviate my trend of thinking. New age? Otaku? sure sure go on...
[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
Well anyway thats it for now... its back to werk for me!

Utawarerumono - Review

A review on the anime: Utawarerumono "The One Being Sung"[br/][br/]
[span class="b_con"]
[img class="b_img_inline_l" src="./img/blog/011208-02.jpg" alt="" /]This one concentrates on the "identity" aspect as the main character is a person who has no idea of his past and struggles little by little to get closer to it. The quest begins as the main character slowly discovers who he really is: "who am I?" "what am I?". Will he really uncover his past? Will he be able to handle the pain and agony of someone who has forgotten his past and origin?
[/span]
[span class="b_con_h"]
I have rated this anime by category:
[/span]
[span class="b_con_h"]
Animation
[/span]
[span class="b_con"]
The animation was quite splendid in most parts and there are some times that it is just too plain but acceptable. I gave it: 8
[/span]
[span class="b_con_h"]
Sound
[/span]
[span class="b_con"]
The timing and sound-mixing was good. The OP for me is quite average but I prefer the ED. The sound effects were nicely done and so were the back ground music. I gave it: 7.5
[/span]
[span class="b_con_h"]
Story
[/span]
[span class="b_con"]
I would say that this one had a great story and has fewer similarities with the others. The story progresses slowly but is enjoyable for a 26-episode series. I gave it: 7.5
[/span]
[span class="b_con_h"]
Characters
[/span]
[span class="b_con"]
[img class="b_img_inline_r" src="./img/blog/011208-00.jpg" alt="" /]There are a lot of characters from swordsmen to archers. As you can see there are similarities in terms of characters with respect to other anime series. But the main character is nicely done. What I can tell about him is that he has most of the "good aspects" not to be found in other characters which makes him superior to the others. I gave it: 8
[/span]
[span class="b_con"]
Average - 7.75 / 10
[/span]

My Top 3 Anime for 2007

[img class="b_img_centered" src="./img/blog/010508-00.jpg" alt="" /]

[span class="b_con"]
Ok! Now to start with, I thought 2007 would just be like the other years but these titles have made things more interesting for these past few months. A few moments of laughter would be great and a slice of action and love-romance perhaps? I only came up with three since I could not make the others my favorites - perhaps some hindering factors? Now to the meat of the discussion... XD
[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
[span class="b_con_h"]#3 - History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi [/span]
[img class="b_img_inline_l" src="./img/blog/010508-03.jpg" alt="" /]
For action-fighting lovers this one right here would really pump you up! Now here's your average high-school guy: Kenichi who goes to school and gets bullied every time by his upper-classmen. What we would see here is how he could get over his weaknesses. He then meets a girl named Miu who will suddenly change his destiny. I'd say the story, characters and the ending is pretty good so better not miss this one!
[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
[span class="b_con_h"]#2 - Lovely Complex[/span]
[img class="b_img_inline_r" src="./img/blog/010508-02.jpg" alt="" /]
I would say that this is one unique anime since from the start you would really see the incompatibility issue. Well in real life, their differences would definitely be taken into consideration. This anime showed that true love starts by being friends and would progress from there. This one has a lot of humorous moments that would definitely make you laugh. Well what can I say, just by looking at the facial expressions of the characters, I actually laughed my socks off! The story is pretty nicely done, the characters, and the ending is good!
[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
[span class="b_con_h"]#1 - Seto No Hanayome[/span]
[img class="b_img_inline_l" src="./img/blog/010508-01.jpg" alt="" /]
For several hours of non-stop laughing this anime has given me the stomach ache! This one is a totally hilarious one. It begins with a simple guy named Nagasumi who was saved by a mermaid. According to mermaid law, any human sees a mermaid's true form he/she would be killed. Because of this occurrence of events, would Nagasumi still live a normal life after what happened? Well that's up to you to see for yourself! XD The story is I would say in two words... great and amazing! the characters, ending, genre was very well done for me.
[/span]

[span class="b_con"]
And this wraps up my Top 3 for the previous year: 2007. :)

The Christmas Season

Ahhh! and It's finally THAT time when we are nearing the conclusion of the year. It is a time where the winter breeze is amongst us. Outside we can hear nostalgic carols and explosions of fireworks. I guess all of you out there are preparing for the incoming feast and waiting for your family members as you unite this season. I myself am excited and at the same time chilling because its cold here! Actually I can barely get up from my bed every morning because of this temperature! But thank goodness I could still get up in this situation. This is the time where we all have to spend for preparations. Hopefully we will have the resources to make ourselves content and that we may have a happy celebration. Not to mention that we need to decorate our homes and set up Christmas trees.[br /]

Have a happy Christmas Season Everyone! I bid you all Happy Holidays!

Standards? Hmmm

I have been exploring the web for quite a while now and seem to be greatly involved with it. I came to realize that without the web or the so called internet most of us would have narrow vision since we have yet to explore. I have been hopping from website to website and became fascinated because I was thinking of how creative people are nowadays. Because of web-technology everybody has the privilege to create their own online profile which could also be termed as websites in which they are to be known all over the world by broadcasting their thoughts and ideas.[br /]
[br /]
Being inquisitive, I finally decided to try and create my own website with the help of my friends. As I first started, I just tried following the examples of most sites. I never actually had any ideas about standards, compliance or whatsoever. Upon completion, I was excited since it was my very first website and that I asked my friends to check it out. A friend told me that I should try validating my website with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and when I did, I was shocked. The first time I tried it I came to realize how erroneous my site was. Because of this, I was urged to research on valid coding for web coding and stuff (HTML and xHTML). It took me a while fixing and examining my code and matching all possible substitutes to make it a valid one. A moment after hours and hours of frustration I finally was able to correct my mistakes. Luckily the code was still small and that it was easier to correct. If it were larger, it would be rather be a difficult one to handle.[br /]
[br /]
Recently, I was stunned when I read an article that more than 90% of the population of web-based entities are not compliant with the standards.[br /]
[br /]
Complying with the standards would give you an advantage. Not only will the value of your information increase but will also be worth viewing. Compatibility issues come after.

Dream, hence Reality

I woke up one morning and sighed out "man that was just a dream, what the hell". What beats me is the distinction between a dream and reality. You will actually know that it was a dream once you wake up from it. The big question is: how could you know that you are actually in a dream where you don't even have the idea that dreams really exist when you are in one. Although a lot of unrealistic events happen in your mind while you are asleep and it is still impossible for you to say that it is unreal. Well perhaps there is a big question behind this phenomenon.[br /]
[br /]
I read from one article that dreaming compensates for the wishes of an individual like say for example, you are really frustrated in achieving something or you can't get something you really want. The dream will try and make it real for you; there is also a possibility for you forgetting what you want because of that dream. Dreams also have a very good function to "clean" your mind; it is somewhat similar to defragmenting your hard drives at the same time creating ideas for you which are quite impossible to visualize while you are conscious. Indeed dreams are special and that reality would be too much to handle without it.

Still Single

I just noticed these past few years that being single has a lot of advantages, you can do almost anything you like without anyone hindering you. It is probably a privilege which most people take advantage of. You can glance at other people (obviously the opposite sex) without any worries like: "oh no! I can't do this! I'm engaged with someone!" or "hey I'm in a relationship" and other things similar. You are free from the barriers coming from a relationship. Indeed being single is a bliss.[br /]
[br/]
On the contrary if being single has its advantages, it also has its disadvantages. You are free but you can't turn to someone other than your friends in times of need. You are not in a relationship-barrier but your heart yearns for something freedom cannot give. We call this love. Although we can acquire love from our friends, family, and others it is still insufficient for us to be completely satisfied and that we seek for more. Loneliness is another factor. Consider looking at your friends and colleagues having relationships. It tends to make you envy or jealous about their situation since they have a special someone to complete their lives and you on the other hand are single which makes you frustrated because of being unable to satisfy your very own heart.[br /]
[br /]
The bottom-line, being single is fun, but also has its downfall in times of need.

Toughts into Action

I finally came up with my very own blog! Seems that this vacation is going to be a productive one. It is finally our break and I myself am making good use of it.[br /]
[br /]
To put my thoughts into action, I must acquire a great deal of sacrifice to redirect my attention to the digital world called the Internet. Thanks to my colleagues, my transition was easier and that I am able to control myself. Because of gaming and anime, I cease to to do productive things and believe me its rather difficult to divert your attention from the things you love doing. Well anyway! I controlled myself successfully, besides, after I finished fixing my site I returned immediately to my addiction.
